Vishal Calls For Unity in Tamil Film Industry Amid Censor Issue Controversy
The Tamil Film Producers Council recently held its election, attracting many prominent personalities from the industry, including actor Vishal. During his presence at the event, Vishal addressed several media questions, including a much-discussed topic about his stance on the censor issues faced by Vijay's film Jana Nayagan.
Vishal was questioned about why he had not offered support during the film's censor troubles. In his response, Vishal emphasized that real change in the industry cannot occur if only one individual speaks up. He called for unity among the members of the council, pointing out that collective action is more effective than individual efforts.
He further clarified that since the matter had been taken to court, the council was unable to interfere or make public statements on the issue. Vishal suggested that if the producers had reached out earlier, a unified response might have been possible. While admitting that he is not entirely comfortable with the censor system, Vishal reiterated that everyone must respect the legal process, a point that sparked fresh discussions within the industry. His comments highlight the ongoing debates within the Tamil film industry about censorship, legal frameworks, and the need for a united front when dealing with such challenges.
