Vijay's Jana Nayagan Leaked in HD Amid Censorship Delay, Fans Demand Action

Thalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated final film, Jana Nayagan, has been hit with an unfortunate setback as an HD print of the movie was leaked on pirated websites while it still awaits its censor certificate. This leak comes after earlier clips from the film, including the title credits, introduction scene, and climax, were posted on social media, sparking outrage among Vijay's fans and the film's production house. Despite the swift action taken to remove these clips from social platforms like X, the complete HD version of the film has now surfaced on various piracy websites, causing concern among filmmakers and moviegoers alike.

The piracy site TamilMV, notorious for releasing Tamil films illegally, explained their stance on not uploading Jana Nayagan prior to its official release. The site attributed their decision to ongoing political controversies surrounding Vijay, who is contesting in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections under his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). The site further stated that their policy only allows for content to be uploaded after the film's theatrical release.

The delay in the film's censor process has been a point of contention, with Jana Nayagan initially set for a January release but postponed due to issues raised by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) regarding certain scenes that could potentially offend viewers. This led the filmmakers to approach the Madras High Court to expedite the certification. However, the legal battle has now concluded, with the film being submitted to the CBFC's revising committee for review. Reports indicate that the screening of the film was delayed when a member of the committee fell ill, and it is unclear when the committee will provide their final verdict.

Adding to the complexity, the film's release may be postponed further due to the political landscape in Tamil Nadu, as Vijay is running for a political seat. Political analysts suggest that the film's release may only be cleared after the Tamil Nadu elections conclude. Jana Nayagan, produced by KVN Productions, features Vijay alongside an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Menon, Prakash Raj, and Priyamani. The film, with its political undertones, is seen as Vijay's farewell to the film industry as he shifts focus to his political career.
