Yash’s upcoming film Toxic has stirred up quite a bit of buzz after the release of its teaser, with some sensual scenes drawing criticism on social media. A section of the audience expressed their displeasure, leading to significant backlash. Yash addressed these concerns, clarifying that the film's purpose isn’t to shock but to convey a story. The sensual moments are integral to the narrative and not simply added for glamour or attention.
In his response, Yash also defended the film’s director, Geetu Mohandas, praising her unique approach. He highlighted her distinct female perspective, which he believes brings something fresh to the action film genre. According to Yash, Toxic presents emotions and relationships in an unconventional manner, especially in terms of intimacy, breaking away from the typical mass-market portrayal of such themes.
Despite the controversy, the film’s team remains confident in their work. With its bold storytelling and fresh approach, Toxic aims to stand out. Featuring a striking dual-role performance by Yash and an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria, the film is set for a June 4 release.
