The highly anticipated teaser for Bobby Deol's latest film, Bandar, has dropped, giving a thrilling and dark glimpse into the life of a fading television star, Samar, whose world unravels after being accused of a serious crime. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, the crime thriller plunges into the darker side of fame, downfall, and public humiliation.
The teaser opens with a nostalgic 90s retro score as Samar, played by Bobby Deol, walks onto a stage, desperately trying to maintain his fading relevance in the entertainment industry. Once a celebrated actor, he is now struggling to hold on to his stardom while dealing with a tumultuous personal life. As his past love, Gayatri (played by Sapna Pabbi), attempts to reconnect, Samar’s life takes a chaotic turn when he becomes involved with a younger woman, Khushi, portrayed by Saba Azad.
However, things spiral out of control when Samar is accused of rape. The teaser shows his arrest and the public shame he faces as his life takes a nosedive. The haunting imagery, including a disturbing smile with a missing tooth at the end, hints at the extreme lengths his story will go, suggesting a much darker journey ahead.
In Bandar, Sanya Malhotra plays Samar's supportive sister, offering some hope in his bleak situation. The film, written by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee, is said to be inspired by a real-life incident involving a celebrity whose life became embroiled in controversy.
