Mithra Mandali : Latest Telugu Movie Review
Plot
Four carefree friends—Chaitanya, Satwick, Rajeev Reddy, and Abhi—reside in Jangli Patnam. Things take a turn when two of them fall for a politician's daughter, Swetcha. Amid romantic confusion and a kidnapping mess, the group’s bond is tested. The movie attempts to be a chaotic buddy comedy but lacks depth and humor.
Overview
Mithra Mandali is a 2025 Telugu buddy comedy film directed by debutant Vijayender S and backed by Saptaswa Media Works and Vyra Entertainments. The film features popular comic actor Priyadarshi alongside Vishnu Oi, Rag Mayur, Prasad Behara, and introduces digital content creator Niharika NM in her big-screen debut. Set in the fictional town of Jangli Patnam, the story follows a group of aimless friends who get entangled in a bizarre love triangle and a kidnapping plot involving a caste-obsessed politician and his daughter. Despite a promising young cast and a festive Diwali release, Mithra Mandali fails to deliver on its comedic promise, resulting in a weak, unengaging narrative with flat humor and poor execution.
Performances
- Priyadarshi, Vishnu Oi, Rag Mayur, Prasad Behara try hard but fail to evoke laughter. Their performances feel forced and unnatural.
- Niharika NM disappoints in her debut; lacks acting finesse and impactful delivery.
- Vennela Kishore & Satya deliver the only chuckles in a few scenes.
- Supporting Cast including VTV Ganesh and others fail to make a mark.
Music
RR Dhruvan’s music is mediocre. A couple of songs might work for reels but don't elevate the story. The background score often feels misplaced or excessive.
Editing
Peekay’s editing is subpar. Poor pacing and clumsy transitions affect the comedic timing and engagement.
Positives
- Few scattered laughs
- Satya’s role provides some respite
Negatives
- Flat, forced humor
- Weak screenplay and story
- No character depth
- Inconsistent tone
- Poor visuals and production
- Niharika’s ineffective debut
Analysis
Mithra Mandali tries to replicate the success formula of films like Jathi Ratnalu but ends up being just silly and messy without being funny. The lack of a cohesive narrative, poor direction, and underwhelming performances result in a dull watch. It feels more like stitched-together comedy skits than a film.
