PM Modi Endorses Gaza Peace Plan in Israel, Stresses Humanity Over Conflict

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Israel, has strongly reiterated India's stance on the Gaza issue, emphasizing that humanity must never fall victim to conflict. Speaking at a joint press briefing with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, PM Modi expressed India's unwavering support for the Gaza Peace Plan, which was endorsed by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He stated that the plan creates a pathway toward peace in the region and reinforced India's commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and peace with all nations.

"India’s stance is clear: Humanity must never become a victim of conflict. A path to peace has been created through the Gaza Peace Plan. India has fully supported these efforts. In the future as well, we will continue dialogue and cooperation with all countries," PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister highlighted that while the road to peace is challenging, it remains a goal that India strongly advocates for, noting that the Gaza peace plan offers hope for a just and durable peace for the people of the region, including addressing the Palestine issue. Modi also condemned the Hamas-led October 7 massacre in Israel, reaffirming India's commitment to fighting terrorism in all its forms. He stressed that terrorism threatens global peace and has no place in both India and Israel.

During his visit, PM Modi also addressed the Knesset, becoming the first Indian leader to do so. In a lighter moment, Netanyahu shared a personal story about his first date with his wife, Sara, at an Indian restaurant in Tel Aviv, humorously noting his personal debt to India.

As part of this visit, India and Israel signed several key deals across sectors like AI, education, and cybersecurity, strengthening their bilateral ties. The visit marks a significant milestone in the relationship between the two nations, with both leaders committed to a future of collaboration and peace.
