Iran’s New Security Chief Signals Hardline Approach
Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, recently appointed head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, delivered a defiant message in his first public address, asserting that Iran will not back down in its standoff with the United States and Israel. Speaking to a domestic audience, Zolghadr emphasized, “There will be no retreat” in Iran’s fight against the US and Israel, highlighting the combined efforts of military, diplomatic, and civilian actions in resisting external pressures.
Zolghadr, a veteran regime insider, assumed the role after the death of his predecessor, Ali Larijani, reportedly killed in an Israeli strike.
