Veteran singer Ray Stevens is recovering after suffering a serious neck injury following a fall, according to a statement released after the incident on Sunday, March 29. The 87-year-old Grammy-winning artist was briefly hospitalized in the Nashville area before being discharged to continue recovery at home.
Doctors have advised Stevens to wear a neck brace for approximately four weeks. Despite the injury, he is reported to be mobile and in positive spirits as he focuses on recovery. The update reassured fans that his condition remains stable.
Stevens’ upcoming album, Favorites Old & New, is still scheduled for release on Friday, April 10 through Curb Records. The 13-track project blends classic standards with newer material from contemporary songwriters. The album includes well-known tracks such as “The Look of Love” and “Come Rain or Come Shine,” alongside newer selections.
In a statement, Stevens expressed enthusiasm for the project, describing it as a mix of songs he enjoys both old and new. The update comes months after he recovered from a minor heart attack and surgery in July 2025, marking another health challenge for the longtime performer.
