Four terrorists including Lashkar commander killed in LoC mine blast

Four terrorists, including a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, were reportedly killed after a mine explosion during an attempted infiltration across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Krishna Ghati sector.

The incident took place near Nangi Tekri, where the group was reportedly attempting to cross the LoC when mines deployed as part of the anti-infiltration grid exploded. All four were reported to have been killed at the spot.

One of those killed was identified as Mohammad Faizan, described in reports as a top commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The other three were identified as Wakas, Ishtiaq and Asim.

J&K mine blast hits infiltration attempt in Krishna Ghati sector

The mine blast occurred in the Krishna Ghati sector, a sensitive stretch along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the reported details, the four men were moving through the Nangi Tekri area as part of an alleged infiltration attempt when they entered the mined zone.

Mines and other security measures form part of the anti-infiltration grid maintained along vulnerable stretches of the LoC. These measures are intended to make unauthorised crossings more difficult and provide additional protection in areas where the terrain can be used for covert movement.

The deaths of all four members of the group effectively ended the reported infiltration attempt before they could move further through the sector.

The incident once again puts attention on security conditions along the Jammu and Kashmir LoC, where forces maintain surveillance and defensive positions to detect suspicious movement and prevent infiltration.

Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Mohammad Faizan among four killed

Among the four killed, Mohammad Faizan was identified as a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, making his death the most significant aspect of the incident. Wakas, Ishtiaq and Asim were identified as the other three members of the group.

The reported presence of a senior Lashkar commander in the group could lead security agencies to examine the purpose of the infiltration attempt and whether the four had been assigned any specific operation after crossing the LoC.

No additional details about their intended destination or plans were immediately available in the initial report.

Security forces continue to maintain a heightened vigil along sensitive areas of the LoC, particularly routes considered vulnerable to infiltration. Surveillance systems, patrols and anti-infiltration barriers form part of the wider security network used to monitor movement along the border.

Further information from security agencies is expected to provide more clarity about the circumstances surrounding the infiltration attempt and the identities and roles of those killed.
