Savannah Guthrie returned to NBC’s Today show on Monday, following her absence since Tuesday, January 30, shortly before her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing. Welcomed by co-anchors and supporters outside the New York studio, Guthrie expressed gratitude, saying she was “really feeling the love” as she resumed her role.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on Wednesday, January 31, at her home near Tucson, Arizona. Investigators believe she may have been taken against her will, though no suspects or motives have been confirmed. She was reported missing after failing to attend a scheduled virtual church service the next morning and had left without essential medication.
Guthrie had stepped away from her duties, including major event coverage, following the disappearance. Despite the ongoing investigation, she previously stated her intention to return, calling her work “family.” Authorities continue the search as a $1 million reward remains in place for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s safe return.
