Gas-X Extra Strength Recall: Check Lot Numbers and Refund Steps

Haleon has recalled four lots of Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels after a possible coolant contamination issue during packaging.

The Gas-X Extra Strength recall affects 125 mg softgels in 120-count and 72-count bottles distributed to the consumer level beginning Monday, April 13, 2026, according to a company announcement published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Gas-X Extra Strength Recall Covers Four Lots

The recall involves select Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels that may have come in contact with a diluted propylene glycol-based coolant after a machine leak during the packaging process.

Haleon said swallowing contaminated softgels could potentially cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea. The company said it had not received any reports of adverse health effects linked to the recalled products as of the announcement date.

Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels are used to help relieve pressure, bloating and discomfort caused by gas bubbles in the digestive tract. The recalled capsules are green and are sold in packaging with green, blue and gray bands.

Affected Gas-X Lot Numbers

The recalled 120-count bottles have UPC 300674350419 and lot numbers TL8K, YH9X and YH9Y. All three lots have an expiration date of November 30, 2028, and were distributed from Monday, April 13, 2026, through Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

The recalled 72-count bottles have UPC 300439005721 and lot number X78N. That lot also has an expiration date of November 30, 2028, and was distributed from Tuesday, May 5, 2026, through Thursday, May 14, 2026.

Haleon said no other lots of Gas-X Extra Strength, Gas-X Ultra, Gas-X Maximum or Gas-X Ultimate are included in the recall.

What Consumers Should Do

Consumers who bought Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels on or after Monday, April 13, 2026, should check the lot number on the package. Anyone with a matching lot should stop using the product immediately.

Haleon said consumers can contact its Consumer Relations team at 1-800-245-1040, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, or email [email protected] to arrange a return and request reimbursement.

The company said the cause of the issue has been identified and repaired, and preventive steps have been added to help prevent a recurrence. The recall matters because Gas-X is a widely used over-the-counter digestive relief product, and consumers may still have affected bottles at home.
