Jagapathi Babu Interview on Peddi Applasury Role & Ram Charan

How does Jagapathi Babu view his Applasury role in ‘Peddi’?
He considers it the number one role of his career. It’s new, emotional, and impactful. Applasury will stay memorable for audiences.

How was the Applasury look designed?
The director Buchi Babu guided the design, with National Award-winning makeup artist Rasheed creating the look. Jagapathi Babu loved it immediately.

How does Jagapathi Babu feel about performing this role?
He feels lucky. Emotionally, performance-wise, and look-wise, it’s satisfying. Working with Ram Charan made it even more special.

Is this a father role?
No. It’s a character filled with love and bonding with Ram Charan’s character.

How challenging was the dubbing process?
Very challenging. He spent entire sessions on just two dialogues to ensure the character’s magic came through his voice alone.

Any similarities between Buchi Babu and Sukumar?
Both inspire him as directors. Sukumar intuitively guided him during dubbing, making the actor’s job easier with clear instructions.

What makes Applasury unique?
Its depth, emotion, and look are unmatched in his previous roles. Its impact matters more than screen time.

How was working again with Ram Charan?
He enjoys Ram Charan’s presence and dedication. Charan performed stunts without a double and gave his best.

Challenges with prosthetic makeup?
Long daily preparation (~3 hours) and skin irritation, but the effort was worthwhile.

Thoughts on music and overall experience?
AR Rahman’s music is phenomenal. ‘Peddi’ is a milestone in the industry and a career highlight for him.

Current projects?
He is working on a big-budget web series ‘Black and White’ for Sony Liv.

All The Best,
Thank You.
