Two Indians Killed, One Missing After Merchant Ships Attacked in Middle East Conflict

In a tragic incident amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia, two Indian nationals were killed, and another remains missing after merchant vessels were targeted during hostilities in the region. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed the casualties on Wednesday, revealing that the Indian nationals were aboard commercial ships when the attacks took place.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal addressed the situation, stating that the government is closely monitoring the situation and providing assistance to the affected families. "There have been reports of some casualties. We have two Indian nationals whom we have lost, and one is missing," he said, confirming the tragic loss of lives. The attack occurred as the merchant vessels operated in the conflict zone.

Additionally, the MEA confirmed that a number of Indians have been injured in the Gulf region and are receiving medical treatment. One Indian national, who was injured in Dubai, is currently hospitalized, and the consulate has been in regular contact with him to ensure his well-being.

As tensions continue to escalate in West Asia, the Indian government has activated a control room to address concerns regarding the safety and welfare of Indian nationals in the region. Randhir Jaiswal assured that the MEA is guiding people who have reached out for assistance, providing updates and ensuring the safety of affected individuals. The situation remains under close monitoring as the conflict continues to impact both local and foreign nationals.
