Pune Fiance Death Case Turns Into Murder Investigation
On June 18, 2026, a 26-year-old man identified as Ketan Vishal Agarwal was found dead after falling nearly 400 feet from Lohagad Fort in Maharashtra’s Pune district. The incident was initially recorded as an accidental fall, but later developments in the investigation led police to treat the case as a suspected murder.
Ketan, a resident of Gahunje in Pune and involved in a family-run real estate business, had visited the fort with his fiancée Siya Goyal. The couple was reportedly planning to get married later this year, with preparations already underway, including venue bookings in Udaipur.
However, inconsistencies in the initial statements and circumstances surrounding the fall prompted Pune Rural Police to reopen the case and examine multiple angles, including possible foul play.
Instagram Story and Digital Evidence Under Scanner
After Ketan’s death, his fiancée Siya Goyal allegedly posted an emotional Instagram story expressing grief and confusion. Investigators later included the post as part of the digital evidence being analyzed in the case.
According to police sources, Siya was allegedly involved in another relationship with Chetan Babulal Chaudhary, a 22-year-old resident of Pune. Investigators suspect that the relationship formed the basis of a conspiracy against Ketan, who was allegedly seen as an obstacle.
Police claim that Siya lured Ketan to Lohagad Fort under the pretext of a casual outing. Chetan reportedly joined them later at the location. Investigators allege that Ketan was pushed into the gorge, and the scene was staged to resemble an accidental fall.
Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have been arrested following interrogation and analysis of digital and circumstantial evidence. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and forensic teams are continuing their examination.
Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV inputs, mobile data records, and social media activity to reconstruct the full timeline of events. The investigation remains ongoing as police work to establish motive, planning, and coordination between the accused.
