Israel Envoy Highlights Deep India-Israel Ties at Delhi Event

India-Israel Ties Take Cultural Spotlight In New Delhi

India-Israel ties were in focus in New Delhi as Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar highlighted India’s Jewish heritage, cultural openness and growing people-to-people connection during a mural event linked to Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

The newly commissioned mural at the Israeli Embassy celebrates Mehta’s long association with the Israel Philharmonic, which is marking its 90th year, and presents music as a living bridge between the two nations.

Reuven Azar Praises India’s Jewish Heritage

Azar said Jewish communities in India, including Baghdadi Jews, Bene Israel and Bnei Menashe, have long found safety, dignity and acceptance in the country. He described this history as a rare civilizational link that continues to strengthen India-Israel relations beyond formal diplomacy.

Culture, Cinema And Memory

The envoy also pointed to the role of Jewish artists and performers in early Indian cinema, saying such contributions remain an important but often forgotten chapter of Bollywood history.

IMEC And West Asia Outlook

Looking ahead, Azar said cooperation on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor could gain momentum once security challenges in West Asia ease. Officials see the corridor as a long-term connectivity project, but regional stability remains key to unlocking its full potential.
