Exclusive Interview with Raashi Khanna: I Have Never Seen a Film Like Telusu Kada
After the pan-India blockbuster Mirai, actress Raashi Khanna returns to charm audiences in the much-awaited musical romantic entertainer Telusu Kada. Starring Siddu Jonnalagadda, Srinidhi Shetty, and Raashi Khanna, the film is directed by renowned stylist-turned-filmmaker Neeraja Kona and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Kriti Prasad under People Media Factory. With chartbuster songs and a highly buzzed teaser, the film is all set for a grand release on October 17.
In an engaging chat, Raashi Khanna opens up about her excitement for Telusu Kada, her co-stars, and her experience working under Neeraja Kona’s direction.
What excited you about Telusu Kada?
We’ve all seen love triangle stories before, but this one stands out with a unique point that audiences will only experience in theatres. That element truly excited me. During the shoot, there were moments that genuinely surprised me. The film gives a new perspective on love and boundaries — something I’ve never seen before.
What was your first reaction when you heard the story?
I really enjoyed the story. Neeraja has written every character beautifully. There are multiple layers, and balancing the three different characters was quite challenging. Although I’ve done many love stories, this one is entirely different. It triggered deep emotions in me while performing, and I believe the audience will feel the same connection.
Tell us about your role.
I play the role of Anjali. She’s completely different from who I am in real life, which made the role even more interesting for me to perform.
How was it working with Siddu Jonnalagadda?
Siddu is very serious about his craft. He has an incredible understanding of every aspect of filmmaking. Working with him was a wonderful experience — he’s extremely focused and brings out the best in his co-stars.
And your experience with director Neeraja Kona?
When Neeraja narrated the story, I was genuinely shocked by how unique it was. She has a strong grasp of emotions, relationships, and visual storytelling. It felt like working with an experienced filmmaker. Her creative clarity is impressive.
What do you think about Thaman’s music?
Thaman has done a fantastic job! His passion for music is unmatched. Songs like Mallika Gandha have already become huge hits, and the entire album captures the soul of the movie beautifully.
You also share screen space with Srinidhi Shetty. How was that experience?
We have some lovely scenes together. Srinidhi is full of energy and fun to work with. We became really good friends during the shoot.
You’ve previously worked with People Media Factory. How was it collaborating again?
Yes, I worked with TG Vishwa Prasad garu on Venky Mama. This is my second project with him. He’s a passionate producer who ensures that the team has everything needed to make the film perfect.
What kind of roles or stories would you like to explore next?
I love mythological stories and also enjoy scripts with a horror backdrop. Those genres fascinate me and challenge me as an actor.
Tell us about your upcoming projects.
I’m doing Ustad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan garu — it’s an incredible experience working with him. His aura and following are on another level. Apart from that, I’m also working on four projects in Hindi.
