US President Donald Trump has addressed Elon Musk’s recent public apology, following a sharp online feud that drew widespread media attention. Speaking to the New York Post, Trump acknowledged Musk’s gesture, calling it “very nice” but admitted to being “a little disappointed.” The disagreement stemmed from Musk’s harsh criticism of the president’s “Big Beautiful Bill” and alleged claims regarding Epstein-related document suppression.
Despite the personal nature of the conflict, Trump said he held “no hard feelings,” and appeared open though noncommittal to future reconciliation.
Musk had unleashed a series of scathing social media posts, accusing Trump of betrayal and exaggerating his own political success. However, after private conversations with Vice President JD Vance and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Musk issued a public apology: “They went too far.”
Trump confirmed he was aware of Musk’s apology but sidestepped whether their former alliance could be restored. For now, Trump says he’s focused on “straightening out the country,” leaving the door open but the relationship uncertain.
