Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Tiger's residence to check on his condition and assured his family of government support.
Eknath Shinde visits Tiger Shroff after Mumbai Juhu firing
According to police reports, five rounds were fired as Tiger Shroff was leaving a football club in Mumbai's Juhu area around 7 pm on Sunday. Although the actor escaped without gunshot wounds, he reportedly suffered injuries from gunpowder and shattered glass. Two other people, including his driver, were injured, with the driver reportedly sustaining bullet injuries.
Photographs taken during Eknath Shinde's visit showed Tiger with visible dressings on his shoulder and chest and a bandaged arm. His mother, Ayesha Shroff, was also present during the meeting.
Speaking to reporters, Shinde said the family was shaken by the incident. He strongly condemned the attack and assured them that the Maharashtra government would take necessary measures to ensure their safety.
The Deputy Chief Minister also referred to Mumbai's troubled history of gang violence during the 1990s, stating that the government would not allow criminal intimidation and gangster activities to return to the city.
Shinde emphasised that threats against public figures would not be tolerated and that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the shooting.
Bollywood celebrity security concerns rise amid police investigation
The incident has raised fresh concerns about Bollywood celebrity security, prompting the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) to demand stronger protection for members of the film industry.
In its statement, the association highlighted previous attacks involving Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, filmmaker Rohit Shetty and comedian Kapil Sharma. It expressed concern that repeated violent incidents could create fear among actors, filmmakers and their families.
AICWA urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take firm action against those responsible and strengthen security arrangements for entertainment industry professionals.
The organisation also demanded action against criminal networks allegedly using threats and extortion to intimidate Bollywood personalities.
Meanwhile, Juhu Police have launched an investigation into the shooting. Officers are working to identify the attackers and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Although Tiger Shroff reportedly escaped serious injuries, the attack has renewed discussions about public safety, organised crime and the protection of celebrities in Mumbai.
