The remarks came shortly after the US president announced that the United States would begin blocking ships entering or exiting Iranian ports starting at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on April 13. The declaration followed a prior announcement outlining a broader naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical corridor for global energy shipments.
